Publish and unpublish a page

Put a landing page live from the editor, find and copy its public link, and take it offline again when you are done.

A landing page you edit is not visible to anyone until you publish it. Publishing takes a copy of the page as it is now and serves that copy at its public link, so editing afterwards changes nothing for visitors until you publish again.

Publish a page

  1. Open the page in the editor. The button at the right of the toolbar tells you where the page stands: Not published if it has never been live, Publish changes if it is live but you have edited it since, or Published if visitors already see your latest work.

  2. Click the chevron beside that button to open the publish menu. The strip at the top repeats the status as Not published yet, Unpublished changes or Up to date, and Publish to shows the address the page will get.

  3. Click Publish page, or Publish changes if the page is already live. The button reads Publishing… while it works, then a message confirms Page design published successfully. and offers View to open the live page.

Open the publish menu again. Publish to holds the public address, and the icon beside it copies the whole link to your clipboard. View published page opens it in a new tab.

Your page lives at your workspace address followed by its URL path, like your-workspace.genpa.ge/spring-campaign. A custom domain replaces the first part and leaves the path alone.

Change the address

Open the Editor menu, choose Page settings, and find Address on the General tab. URL path takes lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens; leave it blank to make this page the homepage of your workspace address. Click Save changes when you are done.

Unpublish

Open the publish menu and click Unpublish at the bottom. There is no confirmation step, and a message tells you Page unpublished — it's no longer publicly accessible. Anyone opening the old link sees a short page saying This page isn't live yet instead.

If you cannot publish

  • Verify your email address to publish. — confirm your address first. The message carries a Resend Email button.
  • The button reads In Experiment and does nothing. An Autopilot experiment is splitting this page's traffic; end it before publishing.
  • You are asked to choose a plan. A workspace without an active plan cannot publish.

Running out of credits does not stop you publishing, and pages that are already live stay live.
