Invite teammates

Send an invitation from Workspace → Team, choose the role the person gets, and resend or cancel it while it is still pending.

· For owners and admins

On this page

Teammates join a workspace through an email invitation. You send it from Workspace → Team, pick the role they get, and the person accepts it from their inbox.

Before you start

  • You need the Owner or Admin role. Members do not see Team in the sidebar at all.
  • Pending invites count toward your seats. If every seat on your plan is taken, the invite form says so; you can add seats from Billing & usage.
  • On the Free plan the owner holds the only seat, so inviting anyone needs a paid plan. An invite is refused with Your plan includes 1 user seat. Upgrade to invite more team members. See Upgrade your plan.
  • Invitations sent while the workspace was on a paid plan stop working if it moves to Free, for example when the subscription ends. They can no longer be accepted or resent, and the invited person is told the workspace has no free seats and to ask the owner to upgrade.

Send an invite

  1. In the sidebar, open Workspace → Team and switch to the Invites tab. The number on the tab is how many invites are still pending.

  2. At the top of the tab, enter the person's email address and choose a role in the selector next to it (it defaults to Member). Owner and Admin can manage the workspace and its team; Member can work inside the workspace but not change its settings. Custom roles you created on the Roles tab appear in the same list.

  3. Click Send invite. The button reads Sending… for a moment, then the invite appears under Pending invites with the date it expires and a Pending label.

The person receives an email from GenPage with a link. They open it, sign in or create an account, and land in your workspace with the role you chose.

Resend or cancel an invite

Until the person accepts, the invite stays under Pending invites on the same tab.

  • Resend sends the email again. Use it when the first one landed in spam.
  • The X at the end of the row, Cancel invitation, withdraws it. The link in the email stops working and the seat is free again.
