Bring your own model keys

Choose which AI models a workspace can use under Configure → Models, and add your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google key to run those models at provider cost.

· For owners and admins

On this page

Configure → Models decides which AI models the people in a workspace can pick when GenPage writes and edits pages, and whether those models are paid for with GenPage credits or with your own provider account. Only owners and admins can open it.

Which models and providers

  1. Open Configure → Models. Available models lists the models from three providers: OpenAI (the GPT models), Anthropic (the Claude models) and Google (the Gemini models). The first eight are shown; View All Models reveals the rest, and Search models finds one by name.

Each row has two controls:

  • The switch on the right makes the model available in this workspace or hides it. At least one model must stay switched on.
  • The selector shows how the model is billed: Credits (GenPage credits, the default) or API (your own provider key). API can only be chosen once a key for that provider is saved and the key has access to the model.

The reset icon next to the search box puts the switches back to the defaults.

Add your own key

  1. Scroll down to API Keys. There is one row per provider: OpenAI API Key, Anthropic API Key and Google API Key. Each row links to the page where you create the key at the provider (for Google, that is Google AI Studio).

  2. Paste the key into the field, for example Enter your OpenAI API Key, and click Save. The button reads Verifying... while GenPage checks the key with the provider. When it is accepted, the field is replaced by a masked value, the switch in that row turns on, and a message tells you how many of the provider's models are now billed through your key.

After you save a key, the billing selector of every model that key can access switches to API automatically; models the key cannot reach stay on Credits. If GenPage cannot verify what the key has access to, everything stays on Credits and you can change single models by hand.

Remove a key

Switch the provider row off. A Remove OpenAI API Key (or Anthropic, or Google) dialog asks you to confirm and warns that models from this provider will switch back to GenPage credits. Confirm to delete the key.

Plan requirements

Choosing models and bringing your own key are plan features. On plans that do not include them, the page shows Model selection requires an upgrade or Bring your own key requires an upgrade in place of the controls; the owner gets an Upgrade Plan button, and other admins are asked to contact the owner. On the current plans both are included from Scale upward.
