Connect Slack

Link a Slack workspace under Configure → Integrations so GenPage can post visitor and form alerts to a Slack channel.

Connecting Slack lets GenPage post a message to a channel of your choice whenever an alert fires, for example when a lead opens their page or submits a form. You connect it once per workspace under Configure → Integrations, then switch on Slack Notification in the alert settings.

Before you start

  • You need the Owner or Admin role in the GenPage workspace.
  • You need permission in Slack to add an app to the channel you want to post to. GenPage asks Slack for the incoming webhook permission only, which lets it post messages to one channel.

Connect the workspace

  1. Open Configure → Integrations and click the Slack row.

  2. The Slack Integration dialog opens. Under Connection Status it says that the workspace is not connected yet. Click Connect to Slack.

  3. Slack opens in a new browser tab. Sign in if you have to, pick the channel GenPage should post to, and allow the request.

  4. Slack sends you to a GenPage page that reads Integration Successful! when the connection is stored. You can close that tab and return to the app. If the page reads Connection Failed, try again from the Slack row; the message on the page says what went wrong.

  5. Back in the app, reload the Integrations page and open the Slack row again. The Connection Status now reads Your workspace is connected to Slack, and the dialog offers Disconnect instead of Connect to Slack.

Turn on Slack alerts

  1. Open Configure → Alerts in the settings sidebar. Under Delivery, switch on Slack Notification and click Save Settings at the bottom of the page.

  2. The message GenPage posts is the Slack Message template under Message Templates on the same page. Form submissions use the separate Form Submission template. Both are described in Alerts.

Disconnect

Open the Slack row again and click Disconnect. A Disconnect Slack dialog asks you to confirm. Disconnecting stops all Slack notifications for this workspace; the Slack Notification switch in the alert settings stays as it was, so switch it off if you no longer want it.
