Delete a workspace

Permanently delete a workspace you own, or leave one you were invited to, from the Danger zone on Workspace → Profile. The primary workspace cannot be deleted.

Both actions live in the Danger zone at the bottom of Workspace → Profile. Deleting removes the workspace and all its data for everyone who had access; leaving removes only you from a workspace someone else owns.

Before you start

  • Only the Owner sees Delete Workspace, and it only works on a workspace that is not the primary one. On the primary workspace the row is greyed out and reads The primary workspace cannot be deleted.
  • Owners cannot leave their own workspace. For them the Leave Workspace row is greyed out and reads Owners can't leave their workspace — delete it instead. Admins and members can leave.
  • Deleting cannot be undone.

Delete a workspace

  1. Switch to the workspace you want to delete and open Workspace → Profile. Scroll to the Danger zone. On the primary workspace both rows are greyed out, as shown here.

  2. In a workspace you own that is not the primary one, click Delete Workspace. The row reads Permanently delete this workspace and all its data.

  3. The Delete Workspace dialog asks Are you sure you want to delete this workspace? This action is irreversible and all information will be lost. Click Confirm to delete it, or Cancel to keep it.

What happens next

GenPage shows Workspace deleted. and opens the Landing Pages page of your first remaining workspace. If the deleted workspace had its own subscription, that subscription is cancelled. If you have no workspace left, GenPage starts the workspace setup again.

Leave a workspace

If you were invited to a workspace as an Admin or Member, you can remove yourself from it:

  1. In that workspace, open Workspace → Profile and click Leave Workspace in the Danger zone. For admins and members the row reads Remove yourself from this workspace.

  2. The Leave Workspace dialog asks Are you sure you want to leave [workspace name]? You'll lose access to it and will need a new invite to rejoin. Click Confirm.

GenPage shows You left [workspace name] and opens your next workspace. If it was the only workspace you had, GenPage starts the workspace setup so you can create your own.
