Build a custom board

Create your own analytics dashboard, add the metrics and charts you care about, rearrange them, and delete the board when you no longer need it.

The three dashboards GenPage ships with are read-only. When you want a different set of numbers side by side — say visitors and one chart, and nothing else — build a board of your own under Optimize → Analytics.

Create the board

  1. On the Analytics page, click New Board.

  2. GenPage creates an empty board called Untitled and opens it right away. It says No insights yet until you add something.

  3. Click the pencil beside the title, type a name and press Enter.

Add insights

  1. Click Add Your First Insight (or Add Insight later on). The Add insight dialog groups everything you can show into Metrics, Charts and Breakdowns — the same figures the GenPage boards use, from Unique Visitors to Referrers, Countries, Devices, Browsers and Languages.

  2. Tick everything you want and click the button in the corner, which counts your picks — Add 2 insights, for example. Anything already on the board is greyed out and marked Added.

  3. The widgets appear on the board straight away and follow its date range.

Rearrange and remove

  1. Click Edit Layout to drag widgets around and resize them, then Save Layout to keep the arrangement or Cancel to drop it.

  2. To take a widget off the board, or to work through a longer list at once, go back to Analytics, open the menu on your board's row and choose Edit Board. That opens a full-screen editor with a Metrics library down the left: click a metric to add it, click it again to take it off, and finish with Save Board.

  3. The same menu has Delete Board. It removes the board immediately, without asking again.
